Traditional music is vertical. It’s built like a ladder, designed to create intense tension (the climb) and a powerful resolution (the landing). It tells a story with a beginning, middle, and end.

Modern music, however, is horizontal. Instead of a ladder, it’s a flowing river. It creates a circular state—a “vibe”—that never truly ends. This isn’t an accident; it’s a direct response to the “Infinite Loop” nature of streaming and social media. When a song never fully resolves, the listener stays locked in, making the transition back to the start of the loop seamless.
